Behind the Build

Published 9 January 2026 · Reviewed by Craig Galloway

Follow the Build

I’m building SaasYeti from the ground up — deliberately, transparently, and without rushing  features for the sake of momentum. This page is where I document the thinking behind the platform: the decisions, trade-offs, and constraints that shape how SaasYeti tools are built. It’s not a roadmap or a changelog — it’s context.

Why Start With the Engine

Most SaaS platforms get messy when tools are built first and the foundations are bolted on later. So I’m doing it the other way round. SaasYeti runs on a shared core system called YetiEngine. It handles the stuff every tool quietly depends on — installs, database setup, users, permissions, versioning, exports, and usage limits. By building the engine first, every tool built on top stays simpler, more reliable, and easier to maintain long-term.

yetimail flow phase 1

One of our products YetiMailFlow is the upgraded evolution of YetiMail — rebuilt from the ground up as a standalone email system instead of a WordPress plugin. Phase 1 is now live and focused on getting the fundamentals rock-solid: signup flow, confirmation emails, list handling, and deliverability. The long-term goal is bigger than “sending emails” — YetiMailFlow is being built to plug into the YetiEngine strategy over time, so it can power automations and workflows across the wider SaaSYeti ecosystem as the platform grows.

Watching the Build More Closely
Occasionally I invite a very small number of people into a private working space where I share more detail — planning decisions, trade-offs, and the real build process as it happens. It’s not a community, a beta, or a feedback group. Just behind-the-scenes access for people who want to see how a SaaS platform gets built properly.

Latest Position – YetiMailFlow

Today’s work focused on accuracy, trust, and usability rather than new features.

yetimailflow build update

I completed a full pass on YetiMailFlow’s email tracking system, ensuring that:

  • opens are counted once per subscriber,

  • clicks are deduplicated properly,

  • and dashboards reflect true engagement, not inflated activity.

On the UX side, I improved the broadcast editor flow, added clearer personalization tools, and finished a proper email footer system with address, unsubscribe, and social links — all user-configurable.

It’s not glamorous work, but it’s foundational.
YetiMailFlow now reports what’s actually happening, and that matters.

Next up: deeper automation logic but a new way "Flow is the word" and smarter follow-ups.

YetiMailFlow Update: Why “Email Flow Sequences” Beat Full Autoresponders

Over the last development cycle, YetiMailFlow has taken a big step forward — not by adding more complexity, but by deliberately removing it.

Here’s what’s new and why it matters 👇

Yetimailflow

What’s New

  • Email Reports Dashboard
See exactly what was sent, when, to who, plus opened vs unopened and click counts — all in one clear view.

  • CSV Subscriber Import
Easily import subscribers into a list, with proper consent notes and source tracking built in.

  • Improved Unsubscribe & Compliance Handling
Every email now includes proper list-unsubscribe support, with clear audit trails.

  • Email Preflight Checks
Test emails before sending using seed testing and basic deliverability checks, so you catch issues early — without pretending to magically predict “inbox vs spam”.

Email Flow Sequences

Why Email Flow Sequences (Not a Full Autoresponder)?

Traditional autoresponders try to do everything: triggers, branching logic, tags, goals, automations, edge cases…
The result? Most people never fully use them.

YetiMailFlow takes a different approach.

Email Flow Sequences are designed to be:

  • Simple to understand

  • Easy to set up

  • Predictable in behaviour

  • Focused on sending the right emails in the right order

No spaghetti logic.
No confusing automation builders.
Just clear, controlled email flows that actually get used.

This is where the Flow in YetiMailFlow really comes in.

More improvements are coming — but always with the same goal: 👉 make email marketing simpler, not harder.

Yetimsilflow Build in Public

Craig here — quick build-in-public update.

I’m running a small beta of YetiMailFlow (my self-hosted email list + broadcast system built for simple setup and real-world use).

This week I’m doing a 10-minute Feedback Sprint so I can ship improvements fast.

The 10-minute mission

  1. Create 1 list

  2. Add 1 test subscriber (your email)

  3. Send 1 test email

  4. Send me 3 bullets:

  • ✅ What felt easy/good

  • ⚠️ What felt confusing/slow

  • ➕ What you expected but didn’t see

Deadline: Today

Want to help shape it?

I’m opening a few slots for the next beta round, but only for people who can actually test this week.

Apply at the link below
(Just tell me your current email platform, list size, and what you want YetiMailFlow to do for you.)

Thanks — and if you’ve ever wanted an email tool that feels straightforward instead of “enterprise-y”… this is exactly what I’m building.

Yeti Launch Promo AI — Build With Me Update

Yeti Launch Promo ai

I wanted to share where I’m at right now with Yeti Launch Promo AI… my newest build and be honest about it.

This isn’t one of those polished “everything is perfect” updates.

It’s a real build in public moment.

🚧 Where It Started

The idea was simple:

What if you could take a sales page URL
and instantly generate everything you need to promote that launch?

Not just a bit of copy…

I mean a full campaign:

  • bonus page ideas
  • email swipes
  • hooks and angles
  • launch timelines

Because if you’ve ever tried to promote a launch properly…

you’ll know it’s not the link that’s hard —
it’s everything around it.

⚙️ What It Does Now

Right now, the app does exactly that.

You paste in a URL… click generate…
and it builds out a full campaign in seconds.

It’s fast.
It’s usable.
And honestly… it surprised me how well it works.

🔑 One Big Decision I Made

Originally, I thought about making users connect their own API keys.

But I kept coming back to the same problem:

👉 That’s friction.
👉 That’s confusion.
👉 That stops people using it.

So I scrapped that idea.

https://youtube.com/shorts/FVd0FKAjNeI?si=jYvXBvYOVlNdYMqy

💡 What I Did Instead

I built it around a simple credit system.

  • 1 credit = 1 full campaign
  • Everyone starts with 25 credits included
  • No setup needed
  • No API keys
  • Just log in and use it

If you want more, you can top up — and the more you buy, the cheaper it gets.

Simple.

😬 The Honest Bit

I’ll be real…

I’ve launched things before that didn’t go how I hoped.

Sometimes it’s one sale.
Sometimes it’s silence.

And that messes with your head a bit.

So this time, I’m doing it differently.

Smaller.
More personal.
More honest.

👀 What I’m Doing Right Now

Instead of a big public launch…

I’m inviting a small group to see it first.

I’ll walk through:

  • how it works
  • how I’m using it
  • how you could use it for your own promos

And I’ll get real feedback before pushing it wider.

💰 Early Access

For this first group:

👉 It’s going to be $6 to get in

That won’t be the normal price
(it’ll go to $17 and then $27 later)

But I want early users in who will actually use it and tell me straight.

🚀 What Might Come Next

Depending on how this goes, I’m also opening up:

  • standard reseller
  • whitelabel options
  • possibly full reseller rights

But only if it makes sense — and only after this first phase.

🤝 If You Want To Be Part Of It

If you like the idea of:

  • building campaigns faster
  • skipping the blank page problem
  • testing affiliate promos without spending hours

Then you’ll probably like this.

I’m keeping this first group small on purpose.

So if you want in, just reach out and I’ll send you the details.

🧊 Final Thought

I don’t have this all figured out yet.

But I know this solves a real problem…

and I’d rather build it with real people than try to guess what works.
