YetiLinkManager 2: from installation to real-world testing
I installed YetiLinkManager 2 on PROD-1 and began refining its link tracking, analytics and sales experience through real-world tests.
YetiLinkManager 2 has been one of my most hands-on recent projects. The aim is practical: help marketers create trackable links, understand where visitors are coming from and test the results of their promotions.
Getting the application installed on Netcup was only the starting point. I worked through initial installation problems, a server error, the public sales page, referrer reporting, country-level analytics and link behaviour. Subsequent improvements have included source-specific links, QR codes, social previews and A/B testing.
Not every feature worked perfectly on the first attempt. That is exactly why I prefer installing and using the application rather than relying only on a specification or a successful code build.
What I learned: analytics software has to be tested with real redirects and traffic paths, not merely attractive dashboards.
