From ChatGPT code to repeatable SaaS installs
I improved the PROD-1 app-building workflow and made developer packages, validation and a shared YetiMailFlow integration kit part of a more repeatable process.
I still use ChatGPT to help develop my applications, but the real test is always whether the completed files will install and work on hosting. That meant spending time on the less glamorous parts: package structure, validation, database setup, tutorials and patch compatibility.
During September I installed an improved PROD-1 App Builder workflow and organised a reusable YetiMailFlow developer SDK. Having a consistent package standard means a new app can be checked before it reaches a live customer site.
My preference remains straightforward: a complete installable ZIP for a new product, followed by small patch ZIPs for improvements. It is faster to maintain and easier to troubleshoot than repeatedly replacing whole applications.
What I learned: a good development workflow is just as valuable as the features inside the software.
